8-Day Tanzania Safari Itinerary: Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro
This 8-day safari takes you deep into the heart of Tanzania’s most renowned wildlife areas, offering an immersive experience of Africa’s legendary landscapes. With visits to Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the Ngorongoro Crater, you’ll encounter breathtaking scenery and incredible wildlife diversity. Each park offers something unique—from elephant herds in Tarangire, the vast savannahs of Serengeti, to the highland beauty of Ngorongoro, home to the Big Five. The itinerary balances thrilling game drives with cultural experiences and moments of relaxation in handpicked lodges or tented camps.
Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha, a bustling city nestled at the foot of Mount Meru.

Depending on your arrival time, you can enjoy an optional city tour or relax at your hotel, preparing for the safari adventure ahead.
Our driver will pick you up at your hotel in the morning and will drive to Tarangire national Park to start your safari journey.
You will enjoy an afternoon game drive exploring the park's stunning landscapes and varied wildlife.
Highlights: Tarangire National Park is known for its iconic baobab trees, sweeping grasslands, and large elephant herds. The Tarangire River, a lifeline in the dry season, attracts diverse wildlife, offering prime game-viewing opportunities.
Wildlife: Elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, buffalo, wildebeest, zebras, and over 500 bird species.
Accommodation: Safari lodge or tented camp near the park.
Drive: 2-3 hours from Arusha.
Spend the day on a full-day game drive, focusing on the river areas and open plains, where animals converge during the dry season.
Wildlife & Scenery: Enjoy the chance to spot elusive predators like leopards and cheetahs, along with playful elephant calves cooling off in the river.
Optional Experience: Visit a local Maasai village to interact with the Maasai people and learn about their nomadic lifestyle and traditions.
Accommodation: Same lodge or camp as Day 2.
You will leave the Tarangire area early in the morning to go to the famous Seregenti National Park.
While our guide we lead you to Serengeti, you will enjoy going through the Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
You will stop on the way to enjoy a delicious lunch before starting an afternoon Game Drive, upon arrival in Serengeti National Park.
Accommodation: Tented camp or lodge in Central Serengeti
Drive: 6-7 hours
Spend the next two days exploring the Serengeti's expansive savannahs. Game drives will take you through Central Serengeti and, depending on the season, areas like the Western Corridor or Northern Serengeti to follow the movements of the Great Migration.
Wildlife: Witness large prides of lions, sleek cheetahs, elusive leopards, hyenas, and abundant herbivores like wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles.
Hot Air Balloon Safari (Optional): On one morning, take to the skies in a hot air balloon, gliding over the Serengeti plains as the sun rises. The flight ends with a champagne breakfast in the bush.
Accommodation: Same camp or lodge as Day 4.

Arrival & Activities: Ascend to the Ngorongoro Crater Rim, where panoramic views of the crater floor await. Take the afternoon to unwind and soak in the beauty of the highlands.
Accommodation: Lodge or camp on the crater rim
Early morning, after breakfast, descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. Spend half a day exploring the crater floor, where a wide variety of wildlife roams against the dramatic backdrop of the ancient volcanic caldera.
After the game drive, enjoy a picnic lunch before heading back to Arusha.
Depending on your schedule, enjoy an optional overnight stay in Arusha or the transfer to the airport for your flight.
Wildlife: Spot the Big Five (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and leopard) as well as flamingos on Lake Magadi and hippos in the crater pools.
Drive to Arusha : 4-5 hours
