Day 1 :

Arrival Kilimanjaro airport

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our driver will transfer you to the hotel. Settle in and take time to relax and to get used to the African atmosphere. It is possible to book an extra day of rest prior to start of the climb, to give you ample time to acclimatise and recover from the flight. This extra day increases your chances of reaching the summit. NOTE: The hotel is not included in the price because depending on your preference we can offer you various options, from basic to luxurious accommodations. The choice is yours!

Day 2 :

Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree Camp)

Begin your journey at Londorossi Gate, where you'll complete registration formalities. Drive to the trailhead and commence the trek through lush rainforest. Reach Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree Camp) for your first night's rest. OR Begin the journey with a scenic drive from Moshi or Arusha to Londorossi Gate, the starting point for the Lemosho Route. Complete registration procedures and meet your experienced guide and trekking crew. Embark on a gentle trek through the enchanting rainforest, immersing yourself in the sights and sounds of this lush ecosystem. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree Camp), your first campsite, where you'll enjoy your first night under the canopy of Kilimanjaro's ancient trees.

Day 3 :

Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp

Continue through the rainforest, catching glimpses of wildlife and unique flora. As you ascend, the vegetation changes to heathland. Arrive at Shira 1 Camp, surrounded by the vast expanse of the Shira Plateau. OR Continue your ascent through the rainforest, encountering diverse flora and perhaps spotting wildlife such as colobus monkeys. Transition into the heathland zone, where the landscape opens up to reveal the vastness of the Shira Plateau. Reach Shira 1 Camp, positioned on the plateau with sweeping views of the surrounding terrain.

Day 4 :

Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Trek across the Shira Plateau, a high desert landscape with stunning views. Pass the iconic Lava Tower and descend to Shira 2 Camp for the night. The descent aids in acclimatization, preparing you for higher altitudes. OR Traverse the Shira Plateau, surrounded by the rugged beauty of volcanic landscapes. Pass the striking Lava Tower, a prominent volcanic formation. Descend to Shira 2 Camp, where you'll spend the night beneath the stars, acclimatizing to the increasing altitude.

Day 5 :

Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp

Embark on a steady climb through alpine meadows. Traverse the lunar-like landscape towards Barranco Valley. Arrive at Barranco Camp, situated beneath the imposing Barranco Wall OR Embark on a gradual climb, crossing the Shira Ridge and taking in panoramic views of Mount Meru in the distance. Navigate the Barranco Wall, a thrilling and challenging rock scramble. Descend into the Barranco Valley and reach Barranco Camp, nestled beneath the imposing cliffs.

Day 6 :

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Conquer the Barranco Wall, a thrilling climb that provides breathtaking views. Trek across the Karanga Valley, a landscape dotted with giant senecios. Reach Karanga Camp, positioned for further acclimatization before the summit push. OR Traverse the scenic Barranco Valley, surrounded by giant lobelias and senecios. Conquer the Barranco Wall, enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Trek across the Karanga Valley to Karanga Camp, strategically located for acclimatization.

Day 7 :

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Ascend to Barafu Camp, the base for your summit attempt. The terrain becomes more barren as you approach the arctic zone. Rest and prepare for the challenging summit night. OR Ascend to Barafu Camp, your base for the final push to the summit. Witness the landscape transition to alpine desert as you gain altitude. Rest and prepare for the challenging summit night ahead, hydrating and fueling up for the ascent.

Day 8 :

Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (Summit) and Mweka Camp

Begin the ascent in the early hours, reaching Stella Point at sunrise. Continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Descend to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest after summiting. OR Begin the summit attempt in the early hours, navigating the steep and challenging path to Stella Point. Witness the spectacular sunrise as you continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro. Descend to Mweka Camp, relishing in the accomplishment of reaching the summit.

Day 9 :

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

Descend through lush rainforest, relishing in your accomplishment. Reach Mweka Gate, where you'll receive your summit certificates. Transfer back to your accommodation for a celebration of your successful Lemosho Route trek with Eyes on Kilimanjaro. OR Descend through the lush Mweka rainforest, appreciating the change in ecosystems. Arrive at Mweka Gate, where you'll receive your summit certificates and bid farewell to your dedicated trekking crew. Transfer back to your accommodation for a well-deserved celebration of your successful Lemosho Route trek with Eyes on Kilimanjaro.

Day 10 :

to Kilimanjaro airport or let's discover Tanzania

After this amazing experience, you can choose to fly home on the day after or choose to discover what esle Tanzania has to offer you such as safaris, several day trips or going to relax on the beautiful coasts rather on the Mainland or on Zanzibar.
